RABINDER BUDIMAN & ASSOCIATES was founded in 2003 by Dato’ Rabinder Singh and Budiman Lutfi, establishing a firm grounded in advocacy, integrity, and professional excellence. The Firm’s official opening was graced by YM Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Tengku Noor Zakiah Binti Tengku Ismail, Founder Emeritus of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, reflecting the confidence and esteem accorded to the Firm at its inception. From the outset, the Firm was guided by a clear vision of delivering strategic, solution-driven legal services while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and client confidentiality.

In 2004, Budiman Lutfi transitioned from private practice to public service, joining the Attorney General’s Chambers as a Deputy Public Prosecutor. He subsequently served with the Securities Commission Malaysia in 2022, before his elevation to Judicial Commissioner of the High Court of Malaya in April 2026—an appointment that underscores the calibre of the Firm’s founding leadership.

Following the transition above, the Firm has been led by Dato’ Rabinder Singh, whose distinguished career spans over two decades in litigation and advocacy. He has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian courts and in alternative dispute resolution forums, advising and representing corporations, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals in complex, high-value and often precedent-setting matters across a broad spectrum of practice areas, including but not limited to criminal law, commercial and corporate disputes, construction, and tort.

In 2005, Nik Habri bin Muhamad joined the Firm before pursuing a career in the judiciary. He currently serves as a Sessions Court Judge in Kelantan, further reflecting the Firm’s tradition of nurturing legal professionals of the highest standing.
